Annually observed on June 16th, the International Day of Family Remittances (IDFR) acknowledges the sacrifices made by migrant workers who send financial support to their families and communities. The day also pays tribute to the dedication of family members who send money to assist relatives in times of need.

Additionally, the IDFR actively advocates for the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The United Nations urges governments, the private sector, development organizations, and civil society to endorse and promote digital and financial solutions for remittances.
