In 2022, the inaugural International Women in Mining Day was observed, urging the global mining industry to recognize and celebrate the talent and contributions of women in the field. The day also serves as a reminder of the ongoing importance of achieving gender equality within this sector. The inaugural online celebration drew over 1000 participants from more than eighty countries, with 90% of them being female.
