Annually observed on June 27th, Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Day acknowledges the pivotal role these enterprises play in advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The day advocates for policies fostering the growth of MSMEs while celebrating and honoring businesses employing 250 people or fewer.

MSMEs face susceptibility to various challenges, such as supply chain disruptions, escalating inflation, conflicts, commodity dependence, geopolitical tensions, and pandemics. Notably, enterprises owned by women and youth are particularly vulnerable to external shocks.

The key messages of the day revolve around creating supportive environments for MSMEs and promoting financial inclusion. By ensuring equal access to markets and finance, these efforts aim to enhance the resilience of these businesses, enabling them to navigate challenging circumstances more effectively.
