Every year on December 14th, India marks National Energy Conservation Day, dedicated to promoting awareness about the significance of energy conservation and sustainable practices. The day also recognizes the nation's accomplishments in enhancing energy efficiency and conservation.

Under the Ministry of Power, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) spearheads the organization of this day. The BEE played a crucial role in the implementation of the Energy Conservation Act in 2001.
