Each year on June 21st, Stereoscopy Day is commemorated, marking the anniversary of Sir Charles Wheatstone's presentation of his reflecting stereoscope to the Royal Society of London in 1838. This presentation also showcased his theory of binocular vision.

Inaugurated by The Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy last year, Stereoscopy Day celebrates the inception of artificial 3D.
