Every year on June 23rd, the international community observes United Nations Public Service Day. The United Nations General Assembly established this day in 2003 to acknowledge and honor the importance of public service in society.

In commemoration of this day, the United Nations presents special awards to individuals who have made noteworthy contributions to public service. Additionally, the United Nations Public Administration Network (UNPAN) adopts a distinctive logo for Public Service Day. This logo showcases two columns, with a pair of orange hands outlined in a flame-like fashion positioned between them. These hands encircle three blue human figures.
